How to Market Your Business Successfully Using Google AdWords

Basic Tips To Succeed In Google AdWords

More and more companies are turning to Pay Per Click Advertising when it comes to advertising their business online. However, Google AdWords can be an expensive and sometimes frustrating way of trying to market your business. But, there are some useful tips that will make your campaigns more effective.

1) Keyword Research and Choosing the right keywords

When setting up your campaign, you should be doing keyword research FIRST. Most people fail on this, and just set up a campaign hoping it will yield fruit. If you don't do your research using the GOOGLE KEYWORD RESEARCH TOOL, then you will not be successful. When doing your research, you need to be looking for a 'high' number of searches for that particular niche, but also aiming for the lowest number of competition in that niche...

LONG TAIL AND SHORT TAIL KEYWORDS WHAT ARE THEY?

Quite simple, a keyword is a phrase such as How to make money online.

A long tail keyword is any phrase over three. So, for example, "how to make money online," is a long tail keyword, whereas, "making money online," is a short tail keyword.

AN EFFECTIVE AD

2) Writing an effective ad

It stands to reason that with a limited amount of space to advertise your product or service, you need to ensure that you target enough information in the ad to get you a high number of clicks, and potential sales from the ad.

The simple way to do this is to think of the 'problem/solution' formula for writing a short ad. For example, if your product is about how to lose weight in the weight loss niche, then you would write something like this:

Looking to lose weight? This FREE report shows you how....Then you just need to paste in your URL at the bottom.

Many people don't realise that the problem/solution formula with the FREE keyword is vital in any ad....

3) Location, And Bidding Prices

Once you have your keywords, have written your ad, you can set a budget for your ad. The best way is to set a low bid to start off with, and to set the location to your TARGET MARKET. If you're based in England, and ONLY SELL in England, then you need to just target that market, if however, you SELL GLOBALLY, then you need to think about setting a price slightly higher to accommodate the global market.

Running an AdWords campaign is trial and error. But if you know the basics, and don't set your goals too high at first, you will have success later. Once you get a few clicks, and even a sale or two, you can maybe be bold and experiment a bit more.

I've been using Google AdWords on and off, and have been getting a few sign ups per week, just by using these basic tips.

How to Use Google Sitemaps to Market Your Business

A sitemap is like an index of your website. It is written in XML, a form of markup language for the internet that allows you to exchange documents on the internet.

It isn't necessary that you know this in order to use sitemaps. What is important is that you create one, add it to your site, and then use it to get your site indexed by the search engines, especially Google.

Once you have built your website and added all of the content to it, your next step is to build your sitemap. Google offers plenty of tools you may use in its Webmaster tools section. If you are using a content management system, like Wordpress, you may want to check first and see if there is a script that will generate the sitemap for you. This will save you a lot of time.

If you don't have any type of scripts available, then you will need to find a sitemap building tool. There are three types of tools: scripts you may add to your site, software, or online tools you may use. What you choose to use will depend on your level of expertise, as well as your budget. Some tools are free, and others you will have to pay to use them.

If you want to use online tools, then do a search in your favorite search engine for "free sitemap generator". You may also visit the Webmaster Tools section at Google for a list of scripts and software they recommend.

Download your tools and create your sitemap. Once you have created your sitemap then you need to upload it to your website. Make sure you put it in the main directory of the website you have created the sitemap for. (You will need to know the path to this file when you submit to Google. It will look something like this: http://www.yoursite.com/sitemap.xml, and make sure you name it sitemap.xml.)

If you don't have a Google account, you will need to sign up for one. It's free. Sign up and then log into the Google Webmaster Tools section. When you first log in, you will see the dashboard. It will ask you to add a site. Type in the URL to your website, like this: yourdomain.com.

The next step is to verify your site. There are two ways to do this: a verification file or a meta tag in the header of your index file. Either upload your verification document or add the tag to your index and then reload the index.

Once you have completed this part, click on the link in the sidebar that says "Sitemap". This is where you will add the link to your sitemap. This is very important. Although Google will begin to index your site, they won't index your site through your sitemap, which is faster. The reason is that they won't know your sitemap exists.

Finally, check for errors. Google offers an extensive collection of tools to help you analyze your site and check for problems. If you get any errors, read the documentation Google will offer you to help you solve the problem.

Pros and Cons Promoting Your Home Internet Business Using Google AdWords

There are several services on the internet which offer pay per click advertising. Google AdWords is the most popular pay per click advertising campaign in the world today. This makes sense because Google is the most popular search engine in the world today as well.

Google AdWords is a great way to promote your home internet business. However, there are good and bad things about Google AdWords. Let's take a look at some pros and cons about marketing your internet business using Google AdWords.

First, here are the most important pros of using Google AdWords to benefit your internet marketing business.

1. One of the best things about setting up a Google AdWords campaign is how quickly you can begin getting traffic from it. Once you have everything in place, you literally can be on page 1 of the most popular search engine in the world in 15 minutes or less.

2. The traffic that comes from AdWords campaign is targeted toward specific keyword phrases that you are bidding on. This helps make your internet marketing campaign more cost effective because people are searching for words that relate to the products you sell.

3. You can set an ad budget to make sure your advertising costs do not grow more than you can afford. There is a great deal of control over your internet business costs. You can define a maximum daily budget and specific amounts you are willing to pay per click. AdWords system will never exceed the amount you have set up.

Now let's talk about a couple of the negatives of Google AdWords campaign.

1. One thing that is not often talked about is many campaigns are never profitable. The people doing them do not properly understand how to set up a marketing campaign and end up spending more money than they are able to recoup in sales and profits.

Starting to advertise your internet marketing business with Google AdWords requires a lot of training. You need to be determined and patient to test and learn how to get the best results with your campaign.

2. When people use Google as a search engine they do not always look across the top or down the right-hand side of the page where the paid ads are. They go to the ads in the middle which are known as organic searches. For this reason you often miss some of the best traffic for your targeted phrases. However, if people do not click your link, it does not pay anything for you. So, you do not loose anything.

There is much more that goes into setting up the Google AdWords campaign. Be cautious when starting to promote your home internet business using AdWords. It will be important that you understand what you are doing before you start spending your hard earned money on it.

Nevertheless, Google AdWords is an excellent tool that could help your internet marketing business to the next level. People are using search engines more each passing day and you can be there to make use of it.

3 Ways to Use Google AdWords to Promote Your Internet Business

While a great deal of the traffic to your affiliate marketing website will come through the search engines, much of it will also come through the use of ads. Google AdWords is a system that can help you get your internet business website matched up with other websites that are also appealing to your marketing targets and can cross sell your product. Here are 3 important ways that you can use Google AdWords to promote your internet business:

1. Do keyword analysis

Make sure that the keywords that you put into the system for the AdWords will match searches performed by those who are interested in your product or service. There are several tools that you can use to analyze keywords that are the most effective for these ads. It pays to take your time and come up with the right keywords and phrases that will then be placed on other sites as a pay per click ad. The objective of AdWords is to procure traffic to your site that is interested in being at your site and possibly interested in becoming a customer.

2. Use long tail keywords

Long tail keywords are phrases that are much more specific than the general keywords. Because of the competition on the internet when it comes to keyword placement. If you use a long tailed keyword for your Adword pay per click ads, you narrow the target. This is important as since you are paying for each click to your site through the pay per click ad distributed by AdWords, you are not so much interested in garnering traffic through these ads as you are getting prospects.

3. Provide a solution in your PPC ad

The phrase that is used in the pay per click ad should be one that provides a solution to a problem that your affiliate marketing product or internet business can solve. Instead of an ad that just says Hair Growth Vitamins, it is better to say How To Grow Longer Hair Instantly. The more attractive the Google AdWords click ad is to those who see it, and the more they think that it is the answer to what they have been looking for, the more likely they will be to visit your site and become a potential customer.

Your internet business depends on a variety of different marketing techniques, including pay per click ads. The more effective you make your PPC ads by the use of long tail keywords, the right keywords and the right phrases, the more effective your internet marketing will be through this venue.
